Auditions H.A.R.T. 2018

The Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District, Huntington Area Regional Theater and H.A.R.T. Jr. are pleased to announce the lineup for our Fifth Season of Summer Theater! Shrek the Musical will run for four weekends in June and July 2018.  HART Jr. will roll out its first official performance with Disney’s Lion King KIDs as the Pre-Show to Shrek the Musical each night!

Auditions for H.A.R.T.’s Shrek the Musical with Disney’s Lion King KIDs Pre-Show will be held on January 20 and 21, 2018 at St. Cloud Commons Lodge, at 1701 Jackson Avenue in West Huntington. 

Saturday, 1/20/2018, auditions are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, 1/21/2018, auditions are from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Callback Date to be determined.

Ages 5 – 105 are encouraged to audition for Shrek the Musical.

Ninth graders and under are encouraged to audition for Disney’s Lion King KIDs.

All performances will be at the beautiful Ritter Park Amphitheater under the stars.  Show Dates are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and July 1, 6, 7, and 8, 2018.

Hopefuls are asked to prepare 30 seconds of a musical theater song.  Please dress appropriately as there will be some dancing involved!

Weekly Winter Crafts

Ritter Park Rose Garden Room With A View

Beat the winter blues with the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District!  Join the GHPRD Recreation Team on Mondays in January for Weekly Winter Crafts at the Ritter Park Rose Garden Room with a View. 

On Monday, January 22, at 10:00 a.m., we will be making kid-friendly winter-themed crafts.  On Monday, January 29, at 5:00 p.m., we will make DIY-style crafts intended for adults. 

All events are free and open to the public, but space and supplies are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. 

For kid crafts, please feel free to bring old newspapers and new black or white socks.  For adult crafts, old sweaters and flannel shirts are welcomed!

2018 Snowball Softball Tournament

Are you a Softball Player with cabin fever? Well, “Let's Play Ball” by joining the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District’s Annual Snowball Tournament in Huntington. 
Co-Ed and Men’s teams will be playing the weekend of January 27 & 28, 2018, regardless of the weather conditions unless the fields are under water. Games will be played on the Greater Huntington Park & Recreation’s Softball Field 4 and will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
The Double-Elimination Slow Pitch Tournament Winners from the top two teams in each Division will be award long sleeve t-shirts. The Entry Fee is $150 per team and must pre-register. The bracket drawing will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
