AARS Rose Garden Competition...
This month, the
All-American Rose Selections (AARS)
kicks-off a nationwide competition
to determine the top ten public gardens in the United States.
There will be two rounds of voting:
• The first round will capture the public's opinion, where anyone
can vote for their favorite public garden on the AARS website,
www.rose.org. The top
ten public gardens will be chosen based on the most votes received.
And good news, the total votes for each garden will be measured
against the gardens annual visitors -- so every garden, big or small,
has an opportunity to win.
• The final round of judging will be conducted by an AARS panel,
and will be based on the criteria we have always used to review our
public gardens. To make this unique, the judges will consider two
additional criteria: creativity and community involvement.
The top scoring garden will be awarded the AARS' "America's Best Rose
Garden" plaque and receive a $2,500 donation from All-American Rose
Selections. The nine remaining gardens will receive a certificate and
be featured in AARS public relations and marketing campaigns promoting
"America's Best Rose Garden" as well as being featured on our
website. The winners will be announced in the Summer of 2010.
